Kyambura tented camp, Mweya hostels, and cottages, Ishasha bandas. All these are accommodation facilities that were partly set up with grants or concessions from the Uganda Wildlife Authority to provide budget accommodation to low budget size travelers or guests to this park. UWA operates 255 beds in queen Elizabeth national park, of the 255 beds, 65 are in cottages, 30 beds are in guest houses and hostel blocks, 48 in a student center, and the remaining 28 on a self-catering basis guest house. In most of these facilities, accommodation is on bed and breakfast basis and self –catering is carried out here but there is always an option of having your meals prepared for you by chefs present at an extra cost. The rooms in many of these facilities are on single and double occupancy basis in bandas or cottages and dormitories for large groups of people like school students. some of the bandas and cottages are self-contained while others have shared bathrooms and toilets. The prices in these facilities can start from as low as 30000ugx-300000ugx in Jumbo bandas and 250000ugx in Pelican and cormorant bandas for foreign nonresidents and only 5000ugx for students with a valid school identity card or in a school uniform.
The Observatory. Just like its name suggests, the Observatory is an observation point for Queen Elizabeth park as its erected on top of the rift valley escarpment to give you over 180o with the best scenic view of the vast plains of the park including the ever tranquil lakes of Edward, George, and Nyamusingire and on a clear day the Rwenzori mountain can be observed at the horizon. Pumba Safari Cottages: This is positioned in Kyambura in the east of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
