Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park is about 90 minute’s surface transfer from Arusha and around 1hour drive from Ngorongoro Drive. It covers 330km2 and 2/3 of this area is covered by water. Lake Manyara National Park features good counts of elephants, Wildebeest, Giraffe, tree climbing lions, Zebra, warthog, Waterbuck along with Impala not forgetting the large troop of Baboons. The park features a range of birdlife including Flamingos, egrets, herons, spoonbills, stilts along with waders.
Tarangire National Park
Covering 2,600m2 of undulating area, the Tarangire National Park is positioned between the Maasai Mara plains to the south east and the Great Rift Valley lakes to the north and west. The northern section of the park features the perennial River Tarangire flowing through the ravines before emptying into Lake Barungi. The park features large elephant concentrations, along with Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Impala, Buffalo and Eland. The lions, leopards, cheetah and spotted hyena are also present. Tarangire National Park is also popular for its huge baobab trees.
The main destinations in this area include; Katavi National Park featuring good count of Buffalo and lions among others and Mahale Mountains National Park which protects Lake Tanganyika – the Africa’s deepest lake.
The Coastal and Island Tanzania Safari Holiday circuit

Best Time to go on Safari Holiday Tour in Tanzania
The best time for Tanzania Safari is in the dry season month of Late June to October and the best time to explore the Great Migration is June and July while the Wildebeest Calving is from Late January through February. Mount Kilimanjaro is better climbed from July and October or from January to March. The Island and Coastal destinations are better visited on a Tanzanian Safari from August to October in order to avoid the long rains of March through to May.
